Premonition: DVD Movie ReviewPhysiological Thriller - Premonition: It’s not Your Imagination
Sandra Bullock stars in this eerie thriller about the premonition she has of her husband's death in a car accident and her race against time to try and save his life
In Premonition:’ It’s not Your Imagination, Sandra Bullock (Miss Congeniality, The Lake House) stars as Linda Hanson alongside Julian McMahon (Charmed) who plays husband Jim. They have 2 lovely daughters and Jim has just bought them a beautiful home after receiving a promotion at work. Everything in their lives seems perfect until Linda (Bullock) receives the news that Jim has died in a car accident. She goes through the motions of a grieving wife and the heartbreak of telling their daughters the sad news. Her mother arrives to help and before retiring for the evening mentions that they will need to organize funeral arrangements the next day. Upon waking up the next morning, Linda discovers that her mother is no longer in the house, and in fact, was never there, and that Jim is still alive and well. A confused Linda puts it all down to a terrifyingly vivid dream. The following morning, Linda awakes to a house full of people donned in black attire preparing to go to Jim’s funeral. Premonition ReviewThe plot is quite suspenseful the whole way through and will keep the viewer guessing until near the very end. Bullock’s performances was outstanding and it’s hard not to feel sympathy for Linda as she tries to decipher clues she finds around the house to clear her confusion. Linda's days alternate between ones where Jim is dead, to ones where Jim is alive, and there are only glimpses of new information being discovered each day, creating suspense. There are moments during the film where the viewer is left wondering if Linda is crazy or if her husband is really dead. A really well made film with a story that hooks you in as you watch Linda try to determine what is happening. As she desperately tries to prevent Jim’s death, you’ll discover other secrets to the mystery and wonder for a moment if she even wants to save him. The movie falls slightly short, towards the end as it begins to become predictable, however, overall it is fast paced with twists and turns along the way that will keep the viewer entertained and satisfied.
